I am SO LATE on this I know! But it seems like the people that brought us Anime Festival Asia has also gotten us a team of 4 kawaii girls! Sea ☆ A  is a quartet of Singaporean (Except Wynnie who’s from Malaysia) idol girl group who will debut in Japan.

From Dannychoo.com “ They be a new idol unit called "Sea A" and will be making their debut in Japan with their first single called "Dream Shooter" that will be the ending theme of the anime title Vanguard released by Lantis.”

Being a Singaporean myself, I must say I’m excited for the girls and I sincerely wish them the best on this endeavour! If their endeavour is a successful one, I’m sure they will pave way for more such talents in the future ^_^ Fellow Singaporeans/ SouthEast Asianers, aren’t you excited XD?

And as usual, whenever there’s a novel action or introduction of something. There are bound to be people who are not agreeable. I am not a Sea☆A fan but I can’t help feeling unjust for them when I read some of the comments on Youtube.

image

Yeah. And I’m sure you totally look your age. Probably a kindergartner trapped in a grandma’s body?

image

Is this meant to be sarcasm?

I don’t understand what’s with all the cynical criticism because it is too early to judge. Let’s all give Sea☆A some time to prove themselves before we comment.

And before that, let’s give our fellow S.E.A girls (Singaporean & Malaysian) a big cheer for they have done something no one has done before!

P/s: I don’t really like their name though =\ Hard to type that ☆  sign

The very pretty Matsuri stage there! Kudos to the Flyer for including this big prop that really adds to the mood!
I’m sorry for having so little to say about the event. I arrived late at the event and was too lazy to cosplay hence the lack of commentaries. IMHO, I would round up the event as hot and humid. The weather, yes. Because an outdoor Cosplay Event in tropical Singapore is a big No-No!

Cosplay: The Series (Episode 5 review)

Episode 5 comes back with focus on every Yaoi fan girl's muse; Homosexuality. Better known as "Boy's Love".

The story begin with Vice Leader Ocha aka rabid yaoi fangirl chancing upon her brother's collection of Arya’s photograph kept in a folder affectionately named "My Lovely". What happened next was a dreadful misunderstanding between Ocha and Jafti that threatens to tear their relationship apart. What would happen to them?

The episode concludes abruptly with a Cosplay PV of Kagamine Rin & Len's original song 'Adolescent'. Definitely have to like how the song was chosen to reflect the feelings of the characters in this specific episode.

Coming to the 5th episode, the shortfall of having overly short stories are starting to stand out. Like what someone commented, having overly short episodes is starting to make the series appears truncated. I'm guessing the story is designed so as to have an even distribution of screen time and for it to stay general.

image

The usual issues of poor lighting persists in this episode with a big portion of the filming taken in places with poor nature lighting. I can't help feeling that the scene of Ocha with Annisa and Vincent would have been much more effective if it had better lighting and varied camera angles. I was also hoping the actors could give a more exaggerating performance but I guess I should lay down on that since nobody's a paid professional here.

Critics aside, what would you do if you found out your blood brother/sister is a gay/lesbian? Would you judge them or empathise with them?

image

Having been brought up in a fairly traditional family, I must admit I find it hard to attune to the idea of “Boys Love”. Even after nearly a decade into this community and having numerous Pro-Yaoi friends, I still find it hard to comprehend this interest.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not against them, I just can't find any reasons to support it on a personal basis. I still prefer my protagonist to get on with another protagonist of the opposite gender. Are you a Yaoi fan? What do you guys think about it? Comment and share with me!

Remember to subscribe to Cosplay: The Series and let’s await the next episode!

Defence Devil Photo Shoot

Hi guys, I’m here with a Photo Shoot entry for my Defence Devil cosplay with Zephyus. It was also the costume we worn during the Anime Festival Asia’s Regional Cosplay Competition.

Kucabara & Idamaria:

It felt good to finally shoot our AFARCC costumes. Though trying to settle the Nitti gritty of a Photo shoot is annoying as usual. And it is made worse with the fickleness of Singapore's January weather coupled with Zephyus's forever busy schedule.DDKZ-28

But despite all, we came through to something. Yeah to cosplay superheroes for saving the day once again!

Zephyus as Kucabara from Defence Devil

The day didn't went that well for me though =( I had so much props and stuffs to carry I actually forgot about my costume even though I ironed and bagged it that morning! Had to cab home for it after reaching the photo-shoot location T.T

JIM_1738

Anyway, back to our shoot concept. Zephyus and I couldn't agree on a suitable setting for Defence Devil as it seemed like the series existed in a fictional era of clock towers, exercising priest, hamburgers, Combini (Convenience Stores) and Ramen. Confusion much @.@!

BRS_8141
Zephyus wanted to have an urban setting but in the end I convinced her that Defence Devil is probably much like current Paris/France. And so we got colonial backgrounds instead :D!

I really loveeee the shoot location! Would be so sad when it gets covered up for upgrading works.

JIM_2089
Zeratul brought his epic lights! They were probably 2 storeys high and looked like a singular sunflower xD Our helper had to hold on to it to prevent the wind from carrying it off xD. And there is Hexlord photo bombing xD

Songster still dry h*mping my Sword Sheath and me photobombing him.

Zeratul acting cute

If you haven’t realised, I personally LOVE action shots! I Love dynamic impact on photos and I brutally forced zeratul to keep retaking the same pose for me haha.

DDKZ-16
Wanted to have an action shot of Idamaria with her weapons. So I tried to run and pierce in the direction of the camera while my left hand clumsily throws my wig in the air to fake movement. After that we tried jumping diagonally but was epic fail.

image

Then we tried doing it with her gun. The photo consist of me doing a 180 degree turn that ends with my torso slanted , throw my hair with left hand again, point the gun towards the camera(making sure the words are visible) and then give a death stare... All at the same time.

DDKZ-50 copy
This was the best shot.

DDKZ-41
This is the funniest xD

Top part of the gun flew and hit Zeratul straight in the lens and we all burst out laughing ahaha. And I shall photo spam you because I don't know what else to say.

DDKZ-9

Zeratul’s awesome light gear + skills made for pictures that didn’t need cg.

DDKZ-4

Oh! A small posing tip to share with you guys. If your feet/legs are going to be seen from the front in pictures. remember to either tip your toes or cross them . See the difference below?

Adrian stood very dangerously to get this shot.172997_10150097017321376_612926375_6572646_8303970_o

DDKZ-36

Ending off with a very scary picture taken by Zeratul! We were trying to mimic the chapter where Idamria was first introduced but failed @_@

Again, I apologise if this entry is a little boring. Sometimes it’s hard to squeeze words in when the photographs does a much better job of describing.
